X-Rite DTP70

Prior to using the DTP-70 interface, you must print out the dtp70_4color.PS, located in the psfiles folder at the root of the drive where Wasatch SoftRIP is installed. (Use dtp70_5color.PS for a 5 color device, etc.) These are the only test patterns that will work with this interface.

After you click on the X-Rite DTP70 option from the Densitometers menu, the following window will be displayed:

Click on Calibrate to initialize and calibrate the device. After the device has finished calibrating, you will see the message, "Calibration Complete". Click on Next.

This Process Test Strips screen begins the strip reading process. Select the colors that you would like to linearize. To begin reading the strips, click on the Read Strips button.

The light around the button on the device will turn green and stop flashing. Center and insert the linearization target into the device with the arrow on the target pointing toward the device. Press the button to start reading the strips.

If the reading process fails, the light on the device will turn red, and an error message will be displayed. Reinsert the target and press the button to start the reading again.

After the densitometer has returned the strip values, you will see the message "Complete". Click on the Finish button to generate the curves. Colors that you did not measure will not be overwritten should curves already exist.

Note:
If the DTP-70 fails to appear on the Densitometers menu, or if you experience problems with operation of the device in Wasatch SoftRIP, look for the existence of XdsIII.dll, pthreadVC.dll, or ColorLibIII.dll in the system32 folder and remove them. The system32 folder is in the directory where Windows is installed. These files may conflict with the released versions used by SoftRIP.
