X-Rite i1iO

Installation:

Because the X-Rite i1iO is a USB device, you will need to install the manufacturer's driver before using it with Wasatch SoftRIP.

After you connect the X-Rite i1iO for the first time you will need to install the software from the CD that came with it.
Eye-One Share or Eye-One Match - depending on which package you purchased.
After the software is installed please connect the X-Rite i1iO and you will able to use the X-Rite i1iO with Wasatch SoftRIP.

For more information, consult the manual provided by the manufacturer in the X-Rite i1iO box.

Usage:

Click on Densitometers on the Calibration screen and choose X-Rite i1iO.
The following setup screen will be displayed:

To begin the calibration, click on the Calibrate button. You must calibrate before you will be allowed to move on and read strips.

After calibration, click on Next and you will see the following screen:

To begin reading strips, click on the Read Strips button. The X-Rite i1iO will find the strips and read them in order without further input. This device is hard-wired to accept the 17 data points used in the file 'eyeone.ps' which is located in the 'X:\psfiles' folder (X: being the letter of the drive on which Wasatch is installed). If you are using a printer driver with more than 4 colors, make sure to use the eyeone_xcolor.ps, where x is the number of colors for that printer. These are the only test patterns that will give a correct result.

To ensure that accurate readings are achieved, ensure that the upper left edge of the eyeone.ps file (the corner where it says to cut) is lined up with the black lines forming a corner on the upper left of the X-Rite i1iO's electrostatic mat. Also, ensure that the i1 Pro is firmly plugged into the USB port on the i1iO's swing arm, and that the lens end of the i1 Pro is snapped firmly into the clear plastic ring (there will be a clicking sound when it is tight.)

If an individual color is unsuccessful, you will see the following window:

You will need to rescan any color that is unsuccessful.
