Pressing the Properties button next to the Printer Model window on the Imaging Configurations screen will launch the control panel for this printer.

It is very important that you select the correct page size and media type for the media loaded in the printer. You must also select the ink set of cartridges currently loaded in the printer: Photo/Color for Photo Inks (6-color), and Black/Color for Normal Inks (4-color + optimizer).

To get the best results with the Canon BJC-8500 we recommend running printer maintenance regularly, especially if you seen any banding or degradation in print quality. This is done by installing the Canon driver and selecting Properties. We recommend that you run the print head alignment and also the nozzle check. Clean and replace ink tanks as needed. If you are using a LPT port, the driver must then be uninstalled for SoftRIP to recapture the port. You must uninstall or you'll receive a 'product not registered' warning and your prints will be defaced. It is suggested that you keep a copy of the driver saved on your hard drive for when you need to reinstall and perform cleaning and printer maintenance.
