Mutoh RJ Series

Mutoh sells a variety of four and six ink printers in the 'RJ' series, which is also marketed as 'Accuplot' and under other brand names in the USA. Since there are a large number of possible modes for this printer, selection of print modes is done on the control panel. Pressing the Properties button next to the Printer Model window on the Imaging Configurations screen will launch a control panel for this printer.

In the Printer Model list on the Set Up screen, there are two Mutoh options listed. The first, (Mutoh), refers to the RJ-4000/6000/6100 series printers. The second, (Mutoh Plus), refers to the RJ-6100 Plus series printers.

Pressing the Properties button next to the Printer Model window on the Imaging Configurations screen will launch the control panel shown below.

The Print Mode drop-down box allows you to select what inks you want to print with as well as the print resolution. After you select a print mode on the Properties control panel and hit OK, the Printer Model selection on the Set Up screen will be updated to display your selection. To change the print mode, simply return to the Properties control panel and change your selection.

Hi-Fi Printing

To print using combinations of ink other than CMYK, CMYKLcLm, or CMYKOrGr, select 'Hi-Fi' in the Print Mode drop down box. Next select the ink combination from the Ink Set drop down box.

If you would like to create a new inkset with a colorimeter, click on the Create Inkset button. If you would like to edit an existing inkset, click on the Edit Inkset button. If you would like to delete an existing inkset, click on the Delete Inkset button. Creating Hi-Fi Ink Modes.

After you select an ink set on the Properties control panel and hit OK, the selection in the Printer Model window on the Set Up screenwill be updated to display your selection. To change your selection for Hi-Fi modes, simply return to the Properties control panel and make your selection.

The 'Default' settings for direction and passes are suitable for almost all normal printing.

The 'Default' setting for dot volume is the best setting for almost all normal printing. The other options may be useful to increase compatibility with special inks and substrates.

The Drying Time control allows you to force prints to dry for 60 seconds before they are cut.

If Head Cleaning is enabled, the printer will clean the heads before each print.

The Media Feed Adjustment is only available on Mutoh Plus models. This adjustment allows you to compensate for slippage on various medias which can cause banding.

The Color Separations controls become active when a Monochrome mode is selected.
