Important Note: For the IPC command to be supported on the AJ-740 and AJ-1000 printers you must have a firmware revision that support this control. Contact Roland to get specific version requirements for IPC support.

Instructions for use of this software follow.

Print Mode:

Pressing the Properties button next to the Printer Model window on the Imaging Configurations screen will launch a control panel for this printer.

This page of the properties sheet allows you to select a print mode, the print direction, overprint.

Media Options:

This page of the properties sheet allows you to control the media options.

  • Vacuum Power: This controls the suction on the media when printing. Media that curls up when printing may require the Strong setting.
  • Head Height: Select low or high head height for thicker materials.
  • Drying Time: The number of seconds the printer waits at the end of the print.
  • Enable Calibration: If enabled, this compensates for slippage of the media when feeding the media forward.
  • Space After Print: Set the space after print. This value is in addition to any margins that are set.

Heater controls:

When you click on the Heater Controls tab, the following controls will be displayed:

On this page, you can turn on and off the heaters and change the heater temperatures. The options are:

  • Use Printer Front Panel Heater Controls: Check to make the printer use the front panel as default. Unchecked will enable the following controls to allow the driver to control the temperature
  • Pre-Print Heater: Check to enable the pre-heater. Choose the temperature in degrees centigrade (35°-50°).
  • Print Heater: Check to enable the print. Choose the temperature in degrees centigrade (35°-50°).
  • Dryer Heater: Check to enable the drying heater. Choose the temperature in degrees centigrade (35°-60°).
  • Drying Feed: Whether the print should be forwarded over the dryer heater, if Panel is selected the front panel is used.

Color Separations:

When you click on the Color Separations tab, the following property page will be displayed:

The Color Separations controls are the same as those of other printers, and are only available if a monochrome mode has been selected on the Print Mode tab.

  • Separations on RIP: This will cause the RIP to separate the image into CMYK plates.
  • Make Negative: This inverts monochrome images when printed.
  • KCMY56: This allows you to print monochrome images to any of the printheads. This is especially useful to eliminate overuse of a single printhead when printing only monochrome.

Printer Status:

Printer status will be displayed when the Printer Status tab is picked

This window queries the TCP/IP connection that is on the Print/Setup window, and returns its status, if available. If there is a problem connecting to the printer, this window will show the status as unavailable.
