Seiko ColorPainter 64S (IP-6600)/100S (IP-6900)

• Print Modes:
  • Print Mode: Allows you to select the resolution (360x720 or 720x720 dpi), and the mode (CMYK, CMYK + Lc/Lm or Monochrome).

  • Quality Mode: Changes the spacing between passes. In the case of the 'High Density' mode more ink will be laid down then the other modes. This means that color profiles created with a non-high density pass count will not be valid for high-density pass counts. Different Quality Modes are available based on your selection of resolution.

  • Print Direction: Choose unidirectional for printing in one direction. Choose bidirectional to make the head print in both directions (each head pass).

  • Enable Feed Adjust: Allows you to fine tune the media feed to reduce banding between passes. Valid range is from 97.00% to 103.00%.

  • Justify towards docking station: Will reduce printing time when printing small images. The print heads will travel the full length of the printer bed if unchecked (figure 1 and figure 3), while the print heads will travel only to the end of the image if checked (figure 2). Take care when using manual print layout. The behavior may not be what you would expect (figure 4).

  • Adjust width for printers color stripe: Check this if the color stripe is turned on in the front panel of the printer. When printing in conjunction with a printer generated color stripe, Adjust width for printers color stripe should be checked. Without this check the full image may not be printed.

  • Heater Settings:
    • Front Heater: Send Front Heater Temp. will override the front panel setting for the front heater and set the temperature to the chosen value.
    • Print Heater: Send Print Heater Temp. will override the front panel setting for the print heater and set the temperature to the chosen value.
    • Rear Heater: Send Rear Heater Temp. will override the front panel setting for the rear heater and set the temperature to the chosen value.

• Color Separations:

  The Color Separations controls are the same as those of other printers, and are only available if a monochrome mode has been selected on the Print Mode tab.

  • Separations on RIP: This will cause the RIP to separate the image into CMYK plates.
  • Make Negative: This inverts monochrome images when printed.
  • KCMY56: This allows you to print monochrome images to any of the printheads. This is especially useful to eliminate overuse of a single printhead when printing only monochrome.

1. Install ASPI: (You can do this one of two ways:)
   
   • Download and install the ASPI drivers from http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?cat=%2fOperating+System%2fMicrosoft+Windows+2000&filekey=aspi_v470.exe (version 4.70 or later) from Adaptec (http://www.adaptec.com). Follow the instructions on that website to install ASPI.
   • Run ASPIINST.EXE from the Misc\ASPI folder on Wasatch CD-ROM #1.
